On Wednesday, March 9th, the SciFY team, in partnership with the INNOVATHENS Innovation and Entrepreneurship Hub of the Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens, organized a seminar on Google AdWords Workshop.

More than 100 people watched Mr. Spyros Tzorgzis, graduate of the Department of Organization & Business Administration of the Athens University of Economics and Business and a member of the Sociality Digital Communication Cooperative (KoinSEp), introduce us to the world of Google AdWords.

At the beginning of the event, the attendees watched 3 short videos on:

Then, Mr. Vassilis Salapatas, co-founder of SciFY, took the floor, informing us about SciFY’s actions regarding the field of Organizational Intelligence. He described Newsum, an application that summarizes news from multiple sources in multiple languages. PServer, an application for automatic service personalization, was also touched upon.

In addition, we were informed about SciFY’s new projects that aim to contribute to the Digital Marketing of companies.

Then, Mr. Spyros Tzorgzis introduced us to Digital Marketing and described concepts such as email marketing, Social Media Marketing, and Display Advertising.

He explained to us what Google AdWords is and the terminology used:

  • CPC : Cost Per Click
  • Quality Score
  • CPM : Cost per 1.000 views
  • CTR : Click-Through Rate Clicks / Impressions

Additionally, we were informed about how advertising is done on the internet – Google Search Network and Google Display Network – and how the Quality Score affects the results.
