5th SciFY Academy: Sharing #OpenKnowledge for Business Model Canvas!

Over 100 people attended the 5th SciFY Academy held at INNOVATHENS on Wednesday, July 15th, 2015. This time, we shared open knowledge about the usefulness of the Business Model Canvas for Non-Profit Organizations with the speaker Mr. Dimitris Paximadis, member of KEMEL, former President & CEO of OgilvyOne Athens, and former General Manager of BBDO Advertising.

Mrs. Marissa Antonopoulou opened the event, presenting to the participants the actions of the non-profit organization Action Finance Initiative – AFI.

Then, D. Paximadis spoke of the timeless shift of Marketing from the offered result/product to the person/customer and how its evolution put the person at the center. He also explained the replacement of the Marketing Mix of the 4Ps with the new S.A.V.E. model analyzing its advantages, and presented the value of personalized services and Differential Marketing.

Afterward, Mr. Paximadis defined the Business Model and referred to the Business Model Canvas as a holistic business tool with a customer-centric approach. He analyzed the process of creating the BMC for an NGO and the six stages that must be followed and presented a very successful Unicef campaign based on the BMC.

Finally, an on-site implementation of BMC was carried out in a young NGO with public participation. As always, an open discussion followed where questions were answered, and D. Paximades shared “tips & tricks” from his experience in using BMC.
